Music therapy is an evidence-based Allied-Health profession in which music is used as the main tool to achieve non-musical goals. It can assist individuals of all ages to manage their physical and mental health and enhance their quality of life.
Conducted either face-to-face or via telehealth, music therapy involves a range of interactive interventions that are tailored to each client. A typical music therapy session may include:
- Songwriting/Recording
- Singing
- Playing instruments
- Dance/Movement
- Music listening
- Lyrical Analysis
- Improvisation
The Rhythm Village prides itself on our exceptional customer service and our pool of talented and experienced registered music therapists. Our private music therapy sessions take place at the homes of our clients, in schools, at Adult Day Programs or in Community Centres. Sessions are generally conducted on a one-on-one basis, but can also be run in small groups of 3 or 4 people.
We work with clients/parents/carers to identify the needs of our participants and then create customised programs that work towards these goals and objectives.
Our private music therapy sessions target areas including:

- Behaviour; Managing Anger and Frustration
